He said the feud between DAP and PKR over seat allocations for the May 7 Sarawak election would only serve to benefit the BN component parties here.
“Of course, the clash of seats between the Opposition pact’s component parties will benefit BN.
“When there is a three-cornered fight, the support for the Opposition will be divided between PKR and DAP.
“I personally don’t care what happens to them. I just want to win, regardless of whether they are still together or not.
“I’m only hoping for them to have bigger differences and split up.
“They each have different dreams and something that is false cannot be maintained,” the tourism and culture minister told FMT.
Nazri, who is currently here to assist in the BN candidates’ election campaign, expressed confidence that the ruling coalition would be able to retain its two-thirds majority despite the Opposition’s optimism that it could do otherwise.
“Sometimes, when you come for an election, you can feel the tension in the air, signifying a very tough fight for the elections.
“I arrived yesterday and maybe it’s still early, but I don’t feel the tension. This shows that everyone can go out and campaign fairly.”
This, he added, proved that the Sarawak Government had done the right thing by banning several “troublemakers” from entering the state.
Among those who have been denied entry included PKR’s Nurul Izzah Anwar and R Sivarasa, Parti Amanah Negara’s Mohamad Sabu, DAP’s Tony Pua, Umno division chief Jamal Yunus and controversial blogger Papagomo.
“I’m from ‘semenanjung’ (the peninsula) myself and I feel there are so many bad and negative ‘semenanjung’ cultures that should not be brought here.
“Sarawak is a very good example of a 1Malaysia state. There is a good relationship among the various races in the state.
“But when these troublemakers come here, they are very divisive. While they will go back to the ‘semenanjung’ once the election is over, Sarawakians will be left to deal with the issues they bring.
“So it’s only fair that they should not be allowed to come.
