PENGKALAN CHEPA:
PAS Youth has asked PKR to take a stand on who it wants as its ally – PAS, DAP or Amanah.

In his address at PAS’ 62nd Muktamar, PAS Youth’s Ahmad Fadhli Shaari made this call, saying there were PKR members who still loved PAS.

“How can this love work if PKR still sits at the same table as DAP and the ‘other party’,” he said, in an apparent reference to PAS’ splinter party, Amanah.

Amanah is in the Pakatan Harapan pact, together with PKR and DAP.

Formerly, PAS, DAP and PKR were allies in the now defunct Pakatan Rakyat.

Ties between DAP and PAS however went sour last year, bringing an end to the Opposition pact, but PKR has maintained a relationship with PAS.

On another issue, the Kelantan PAS Youth chief also stressed that there will never be a union of PAS and Barisan Nasional, who were like “oil and water.”

He also took a swipe at “those who have left the party” in an apparent reference to Amanah leaders.
He warned the “traitors” that PAS Youth would tell their children and grandchildren how these “traitors” betrayed PAS’ struggles.

Ahmad also lamented that everything PAS did was criticised by political observers.

“When we wear traditional Malay attire, people say we are being too Malay, when we wear robes, people say we are too Arabic.

“When we table the bill to elevate the shariah courts, we are accused of working with Umno. If we do not table it, people will say we have been fooled by Umno.”
