KUALA LUMPUR:
A total of 814 areas in the Klang Valley involving 3.89 million users will be facing water supply disruption due to maintenance work at the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) main entry substation in Bukit Badong, Hulu Selangor, on Monday.

National Water Services Commission (SPAN) chief executive officer Mohd Ridhuan Ismail said the 16-hour TNB maintenance works from 8am to midnight would affect the operations of the Sungai Selangor main water treatment plants, which supply to 60% of consumers in the Klang Valley.

The areas that will be affected are Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

“The maintenance works are carried out once every three years to prevent any faulty or unplanned power trip at these water treatment plants.

“The water supply will return to normal in stages after the maintenance works have been completed,” he said in a statement here today.

As such, consumers are advised to store adequate supply to last during that period.

The public can refer to the official website www.syabas.com.my for the latest information on the water supply disruption.
