According to the Welfare Department’s InfoBanjir app, 20,742 people have been evacuated, with 9,976 evacuated in Kelantan and 10,766 evacuated in Terengganu as of 8.20am.
The evacuees in both states include 3,485 children and 284 toddlers in Kelantan and 3,758 children and 86 toddlers in Terengganu.

At present, 82 flood relief centres have been opened in Kelantan and 125 in Terengganu.
Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department deputy director (Operations) Hussin Ab Rahman told FMT there was heavy rainfall around 6pm but now it was not raining as heavily.
“We are still carrying out rescue missions. The biggest challenge is stubborn residents who refuse to evacuate when we tell them to.
“Then they start to panic when it gets dark because the electricity supply has been disrupted. That’s when they start calling for help and we go rescue them.”
Hussin advised the public to adhere to instructions of the authorities.
The Terengganu Fire and Rescue Department could not be reached for comment.
Despite the floods, the customer service at the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur says there have not been any notices of cancellations of bus trips to and fro Kelantan and Terengganu.
