
He named the two as the youth and sports ministry as well as the rural and regional development ministry.
“The youth and sports ministry will be called up over the construction of a sports facility for youth that PAC needs clarification about.
“We will also call the Bintulu Port Authority and Malaysia Venture Capital and other ministries to advise them to better their performances.
“We are not looking for their weaknesses but just to suggest ways to better their performances. These bodies have significant roles to play in society,” Hasan said at a press conference in the Parliament building here today.
He said PAC was pleased with the performances of the federal government, federal statutory bodies and state governments overall.
“One hundred and twenty-six statements were passed without reprimand, 12 without reprimand with emphasis of matters, four with reprimand and one with a difference of opinion.
“PAC identified ministries with weakness and will call them up for an explanation.”
Auditor-General Dr Madinah Mohamad said action will be taken against ministries and government agencies before they even meet with PAC.
“When the Auditor-General’s Report is prepared the national audit department will not wait until they present the report to Parliament or PAC. We will move to take swift action against bodies by meeting with relevant authorities on the matter,” she said adding that the method was effective to deal with poor performers.
