When met with reporters and asked if such a meeting had been held between the two, Azmin was reported by Malay Mail Online as saying, “No, I haven’t.”
He did however remind any individual with evidence of such corrupt practices, to report the matter to the relevant authorities such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
When asked if a state committee would be formed to deal with the matter, Azmin, who is deputy president of PKR merely repeated his advice of reporting suspected corruption to the authorities directly.
He also reiterated his administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency.
On Friday, Rafizi, who is also MP for Pandan, verified that a leaked WhatsApp message about alleged corruption in the state, originated from him. He however denied it involved any elected representative or state official and said it was “specific” and not “general.”
Azmin however dismissed it as a smear campaign against his government.
In the leaked message sent to the “Solidarity for Anwar” WhatsApp group, Rafizi touched on the demands for cash and women when dealing with the Selangor Government. He also warned that he would expose those involved unless the practice was stopped immediately.
