The 30-acre facility represents an investment of over RM600 million featuring a manufacturing plant, warehouse, distribution centre, innovation centre and management block.
Vinda Group Southeast Asia president Su Ting Nee said: “This investment shows our commitment to Malaysia and the state of Selangor.
“The regional hub will centralise expertise and high-value activities in the country. Apart from that, this would also help the group’s goal to be more competitive on a global level.”
With the new hub which employs 1,400 staff and will serve over 25 Asian markets, Su anticipates regional production capacity will increase by 20%. “We will also be developing an additional 20-acre site in the future.”
Vinda Group chairman Li Chao Wang said the new SEA headquarters has elevated its manufacturing and commercial synergy capabilities to a new level, enabling it to be more responsive in meeting market changes and requirements.
The regional hub will develop, manufacture and market three different product categories, including baby care, incontinence care and feminine care.
Vinda has its headquarters in Hong Kong and is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with production capacity in China, Taiwan, Malaysia and Australia.
