Public Accounts Committee (PAC) member Liang Teck Meng lodged the report at 4pm yesterday, at the Sentul police station.
Two days ago, Rafizi, who is also MP for Pandan, revealed a document, classified under the Official Secrets Act 1972 (OSA), from the A-G’s report on 1MDB which purportedly linked Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) to the state-owned investment firm.
Following this revelation, various parties, including 1MDB, demanded Rafizi be investigated.
Liang from Gerakan, who is also MP for Simpang Renggam, made the report on PAC’s behalf, in which he called on the authorities to investigate Rafizi and to take the appropriate action against the lawmaker for revealing a classified document.
Earlier, Rafizi claimed he was willing to be put behind bars after revealing OSA documents that clearly showed alleged mistakes made by 1MDB.
“If exposing government documents is an offence under the OSA, then it is obvious the mistakes made by 1MDB are also an offence under various acts.
“I am ready to testify, but I would like IGP Khalid Abu Bakar to answer whether Arul Kanda (1MDB chief) will be subject to similar investigations and treatment,” he said.
