He will appear at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on March 2, according to show organiser PR Worldwide.
“Hey KL, guess what, I’m coming back to you with my Deported World Tour, my brand new show. You can watch me and all my illiteracy in March. Love you ‘Koaala-hala-lumpur’,” Peters was heard saying on PR Worldwide’s Facebook page.
The Deported World Tour will also feature one of David Letterman’s favourite comics, the legendary raconteur of weird stories, comedian Jake Johannsen.
The tour will take Peters and his entourage around the world, well into 2019.
Peters first performed in KL in 2012, where he hit a record ticket sales of 7,900 tickets sold in three hours, beating the sales figures in other countries he has toured. The overwhelming response called for an encore the next night, which was also sold out.
He last performed in Malaysia in April 2015, to a sell-out audience of 16,000 people in Shah Alam.
The Deported World Tour marks Peters’ return to live touring after taking time off stage since the filming of his last special, “Almost Famous”, for Netflix in April 2016 in Toronto.
In between, he produced and starred in his own comedy-drama limited series for Netflix, The Indian Detective.
The Indian Detective also stars Anupam Kher (The Big Sick, Silver Linings Playbook), William Shatner (Star Trek), Christina Cole (Suits, Casino Royale), Mishqah Parthiephal (Keeping Up with the Kandasamys). The Indian Detective will air on Dec 19 on Netflix globally.
Tickets for the KL show are priced at RM198, RM298 and RM398 with sales to open on Dec 22 at 10am.
An exclusive “fans presale” will be held on Dec 20 at 10am at www.prworldwidelive.com.
