The women working in the Ga West District in Pobiman, Ghana have seen their livelihoods affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ayisha Antwi sells “hauso koko”, a Ghanian porridge, with bread by the roadside.
Despite the pandemic, she says she can’t let her customers down by not preparing food for them. She wakes up early to get the porridge ready before her customers arrive.

Abena Quansah sells provisions like Milo, milk, soap and bread. She’s been greatly affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus, but still delivers her services to the community. She has to find multiple ways to support her family of six.
Mama Lydia is a seamstress. While she doesn’t get many customers in the midst of the pandemic, she now sews face masks to give to her customers and her neighbours in order to keep them safe.
