PARIS:
Swedish manufacturer Awake has unveiled its brand-new electric surfboard, which can reach 56 km/h on the water.

The Rävik S 22 lets surfers ride the waves, and do jumps, tricks and backflips, all at high speed.

On paper, this is without a doubt the most extreme surfboard out there. It’s an enhanced version of the Rävik S, released two years ago, boasting more power, more thrust and a better overall experience.

For example, it takes only four seconds to reach 50 km/h.

The surfboard’s standard battery keeps it running for a maximum of 20 minutes.

Fortunately, charging is relatively fast, taking about an hour and a half, so thrill-seekers can get back out there quickly.

The Awake Rävik S 22 is out now, priced from €12,900.

For the record, the all-electric specialist Tesla previously launched its own surfboards in 2018, although these were of the regular variety!
