Why limit cornflakes to the breakfast table when there are other delicious and easy ways to enjoy this all-time favourite cereal?
This recipe takes no time at all to prepare and is so easy, even the kids could make it themselves – under supervision, of course!
You don’t even need a hand mixer or any other fancy gadget – just a little elbow grease is enough to whip a batch of tasty treats. They’re best enjoyed on movie nights in front of the telly!
Ingredients
- 250g cornflakes, half-crushed
- 100g sliced almonds
- 50g walnuts, half-crushed
- 100ml honey
- 50g butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Method
- In a bowl, pour in the cornflakes, almonds and walnuts. Mix well.
- Place a medium-sized pot on medium heat.
- When the pot is hot, add the butter, honey and brown sugar and stir gently until all the sugar is dissolved.
- Pour this caramel into the bowl of cornflakes and nuts. Stir gently until everything is combined.
- In a baking tin, pour out the mixture and level it with a spoon. Let it cool for 15 minutes in the fridge.
- Cut into bite-sized squares and enjoy!
