Former Umno MPs Shahidan Kassim and Ismail Abdul Muttalib have yet to join PAS or any Perikatan Nasional component, even though they will be standing under the coalition’s banner in the 15th general election.
PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said it was not compulsory for candidates to be a member of a party to be eligible to contest, Harian Metro reported. He said that the Islamic party however allowed them to use their logo.
