While it is not stated in the post, it is believed that he was congratulating the Sultan of Selangor on the occasion of the latter’s marriage to Norashikin Abdul Rahman.
Along with his message, Tengku Amir Shah shared a collage of pictures, mostly of him and his father.
“Alhamdulillah and congratulations Dad! I am super happy for you,” Tengku Amir Shah wrote via his Instagram account @rmselangor.
He also paid tribute to Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, stating that the Sultan was a strong-willed man and a brave fighter, among others.
“I have nothing but admiration for this one man I call Dad.
“I will always be supportive and stand behind you as your warrior. I am forever proud to be your son,” he wrote.
Tengku Amir Shah noted how the Sultan was also the best example to him of how to become a great leader.
The post, shared some four hours ago, has garnered more than 2,000 likes on the photo-based social media platform.
In a statement, issued by the Sultan of Selangor’s private secretary, Munir Bani, earlier today, it was announced that the Sultan had wed Norashikin in a simple ceremony on Aug 31 at the Royal Mosque in Istana Alam Shah, Klang.
It was solemnised by the Mufti of Selangor, Mohd Tamyes Abdul Wahid.
This is the third marriage for the Sultan.
Previously, the Sultan was married to Raja Zarina Raja Tan Sri Zainal in 1968 and they were divorced in 1986.
The couple have two daughters, Tengku Zerafina and Tengku Zatashah.
The Sultan later married Che Puan Nur Lisa Idris Abdullah, an American, and they divorced in 1997.
From that marriage, the Sultan had a son, Tengku Amir Shah.
Norashikin, 45, is a Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) presenter, and has two children from her previous marriage to airline pilot Mustapha Kamal Halim.
