The Bukit Mertajam MP questioned Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia on his decision not to refer Najib, who is also prime minister and finance minister, for “misleading” the Dewan during his Budget 2017 speech.
Pandikar told Sim to file a private motion if he was unhappy with the decision.
“I looked at your application and found that there is no prima facie case to refer Pekan to the committee,” Pandikar said, adding that Budget 2017, was a “technical matter”.
Pandikar cited a previous occasion when the then Permatang Pauh MP Anwar Ibrahim told a press conference outside the Dewan about a sum of RM1.4 billion “missing” from the Budget speech, despite the then Deputy Finance Minister having already responded to the allegations.
Sim pressed on for Pandikar to review the decision, despite repeated calls for him to sit down. This resulted in him being thrown out.
After Sim was ejected, Gobind Singh Deo (DAP-Puchong) and Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Gelang Patah) joined in the chorus, urging Pandikar to review his earlier decision.
Lim accused Pandikar of being “zalim”(oppressive) for refusing to review the decision, but later retracted the remark.
