It struck out an election petition challenging his victory on May 9.
The petition, which was filed by Warisan candidate Jake Nointin, was dismissed by High Court judge P Ravindran, who allowed Jeffrey’s preliminary objection to the petition.
Nointin was also ordered to pay RM10,000 in costs to Jeffrey.
According to Jeffrey’s counsel, Tengku Fuad Ahmad, the petition was struck out because the irregularities pleaded in the petition were deemed insufficient to have affected the election results.
The court, he said, also found the allegations of corruption pleaded by Nointin to be insufficient.
Furthermore, he said Nointin, who was represented by lead counsel Benjamin Chin, had withdrawn charges of general bribery.
Kitingan won the Keningau seat with a razor-thin majority of 45, polling 13,286 votes against Nointin’s 13,241 votes.
Barisan Nasional candidate Daniel Kinsik obtained 12,742 votes while three other candidates lost their deposits.
