KUALA NERUS:
Food court operators and night market traders in Terengganu will be required to halt businesses for 15 minutes during the Maghrib prayer time beginning next year.

State Entrepreneurship, Micro-Industry and Hawkers’ Affairs Committee chairman Mohd Nurkhuzaini A Rahman said the proposal would be implemented in stages and after the food courts and the night markets were equipped with prayer rooms and ablution facilities.

“This requires cooperation with local authorities (PBTs) and Air Terengganu Sdn Bhd (SATU) to provide the facilities at the site.”

He said a food court in Besut had already implemented the rule.
