This is part of a collaboration with the state government.
DoctorOnCall.com.my (DoC), which usually charges RM20 for a video chat or phone call medical consultation service, is giving one free session for Penangites with the code “Penang2030”.
Medicines, which will be couriered, will be given a 20% discount with free delivery, under the same code. The offer is a one-time offer and valid until the year’s end.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the initiative was part of its “Penang Sihat” programme, which aims to improve healthcare among the people.
“All that is needed is a device with internet access and 80 doctors are at your beck and call.
“They will give you medical advice on fever, cough, flu and other common illnesses.
“They can also help with long-term illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol, among others.
“Pharmacists are also on standby to prescribe you medicines,” he said at a press conference in Komtar today.
State Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin said DoC had been used by the state governments of Kedah, Perak and Selangor with much success.
He said statistics showed that 6.71 million people had used DoC from 2016 until June 9, with 1.61% of them Penangites.
