KUALA LUMPUR:
The health ministry said there is another death in Kuala Koh village in Gua Musang due to measles, bringing the death toll among Orang Asli to 4.

The victim died last night. It is believed that the victim had been receiving treatment since June 29.

When the victim’s condition became critical, he was transferred to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital, Kuala Terengganu, on June 7, 2019.

“However, the hospital has yet to release the post-mortem details of the victim,” said Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad after the launching of the Skills and Simulation Training Centre at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

From June 3 till June 9, 178 cases had been reported — 147 in Kelantan (including three deaths), 23 in Terengganu (including 1 death) and eight in Pahang.

Of the number, 88 have been confirmed to have measles through laboratory testing.
