Cheras cemetery to close temporarily until CMCO ends

PETALING JAYA:
The Cheras Christian Cemetery in Kuala Lumpur will be closed from Oct 29 until the ongoing conditional movement control order (CMCO) ends.

In a Facebook post, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said the Cheras Christian Cemetery on Jalan Kuari, will be closed until Nov 9, although burials and cremations will be allowed to proceed as usual, subject to SOPs.

However, the public will not be allowed to visit graves or commemorate All Souls’ Day at the cemetery during this temporary closure.

All Souls Day falls on Nov 2 every year and is usually commemorated with the blessing of the graves by priests.

The CMCO for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, which was to end today, has been extended for another 14 days until Nov 9.
