PETALING JAYA:
The government expects the first batch of Covid-19 vaccines to arrive this coming February.

International Trade and Industry Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali was quoted by Bernama as saying this today.

The government previously signed agreements with Pfizer and the global Covax facility in November to obtain Covid-19 vaccines for up to 30% of Malaysia’s population.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said there were plans to increase purchases of the vaccine to cover the immunisation needs of up to 70% of Malaysians.

He added the vaccine supply is scheduled to arrive here in March 2021.

Two MPs, namely Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin and Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim previously offered themselves to be tested for the vaccine.
