
He said the National Security Council has also allowed congregational Terawih (evening) prayers and other religious activities such as Al-Quran recitals at mosques, but added that this would depend on the respective state governments.
He added that SOPs for bazaars and religious activities such as the locations and numbers of visitors allowed at one time will be announced later.
Speaking on the arrests yesterday, Ismail said 134 people were detained, of whom 127 were given compounds and seven remanded.
Among the offences were crossing state or district borders without permission (26), failure to provide materials for contact tracing or registration of customers (31), flouting physical-distancing rules (20), failure to wear face masks (26), and premises operating beyond the permitted hours or operating without permission (17).
Ismail also said authorities caught 10 illegal immigrants and seized three vehicles and one boat under Op Benteng.
He added that 145,929 passengers had arrived through KLIA between July 24 last year and March 15 this year from various countries.
A total of 1,039 people were sent to hospital for treatment, 137,791 were allowed to return home and 7,099 are currently undergoing mandatory quarantine.
