PETALING JAYA: The price of RON97 will increase by four sen per litre starting tomorrow, the finance ministry announced today.
RON97 will retail at RM2.58 per litre, up from RM2.54. The new price will be effective from April 22 until April 28.
The retail price of RON95 and diesel remains unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre respectively.
The finance ministry said the government will retain the ceiling price for RON95 and diesel to protect consumers from the global price increase, as the market price has exceeded the current ceiling.
“The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people.”
