The proposal had come from PKR Youth at the party’s annual congress.
However, in a joint statement this evening, the Amanah Youth leaders said they were strongly against the idea as it aimed “to divide the camaraderie in PH”.
The division leaders, Zulhafiz Zulkifli (Lembah Pantai), Anhdeer Supardy Lazuardi (Batu), Hafizzuddin Razian (Kepong), Mohd Nur Fadhil Ya’cob (Bandar Tun Razak) and Sheikh Khuzaifah Sheik Abu Bakar (Bukit Bintang), said all component parties should learn from the “Sheraton move” which led to the collapse of the PH coalition.
“The consensus to use the PH logo would give confidence to the public that PH component parties were united and loyal in reaching the same ambitions to return the mandate to the people, and to bring Malaysia out from the ill effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Earlier this evening, the DAP Youth wing similarly shot down the proposal.
DAP Youth leader Howard Lee said the PH logo was more suitable as the coalition is now a registered entity unlike at GE14 when registration was pending and was only approved 10 days after the election.
