They sent a a letter addressed to Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin and women’s chief Rina Muhd Harun.
Masazlina, who is also Bersatu women chief for the Taman Abad branch, confirmed the matter when contacted.
“That is right, I sent it in (resignation letter) last night. As of now, I have not received any feedback from party leadership,” she told FMT.
In the letter, Masazlina alleged that the group decided to resign due to a lack of integrity by Johor Bahru women’s division chief, Azlinda Abdul Latif.
She said Azlinda, who is also the political secretary to the prime minister, was not accountable when facing problems, undermined issues that were brought up, and practised favouritism in her leadership.
“The voices of the grassroots also do not get as much attention and the leadership is not in touch with the members. There is also a lot of division inside the party.
“The appointment of the women’s adviser was made without agreement or discussion with the other committee members,” she had said in the letter.
FMT is attempting to contact Bersatu Johor’s leadership for comment.
