KUALA LUMPUR:
Latifah Sidek, wife of national badminton legend Misbun Sidek, died today.

The matter was confirmed by the National Sports Council (MSN) on its Facebook page tonight.

“We are sad to inform that Datin Latifah returned to the Almighty just now. Let us all pray that her soul may be placed among those loved by Him.

“Condolences to Datuk Misbun and family,” read the entry.

The late Latifah had been warded at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital since July 10.

Misbun, a former national player and national coach, who is now the technical director of the National Youth Squad, married Latifah in 1987.

Youth and sports minister Reezal Merican Naina Merican expressed condolences to the family of the deceased via his social media account.
