
He said the movement involved outsiders with the help of “enemies in disguise” within Umno itself.
Puad’s claim comes after he revealed yesterday that three Umno MPs had held a meeting at Seri Pacific hotel, located near the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, which houses Umno’s headquarters.
“We’ve heard of the Kajang Move and the Sheraton Move. The Sheraton Move was indeed successful,” he said in a Facebook post.
“Now there’s the Seri Pacific Move. The target is Umno. Who is involved? How much money is involved? Is there a ‘scheme of things’? Which Umno leaders go there often?”
He also questioned whether the Seri Pacific Move was mobilised to destroy Umno, and claimed the Sheraton Move may have been applied in the second plan.
He said the political move came as a result of certain people saying different things to different people, and accused those involved of cheating the party.
On Tuesday, Umno decided to officially withdraw support for the Perikatan Nasional-led government, having previously declared it no longer backed Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister.
Amid speculation the government no longer had the majority in the Dewan Rakyat, Muhyiddin said he was confident this was untrue and would put it to the test via a vote during next month’s Parliament sitting.
