The huge crowd packed close to each other, with no SOPs observed, waiting for their turn to be vaccinated.

PETALING JAYA:
Foreigners and locals flooded the Grand Seasons Hotel welfare home vaccination centre (PPV) in Kuala Lumpur this morning, with hundreds queuing up close to one another with no physical distancing.

The vaccination centre was packed with people hoping to get vaccinated, as seen in a viral video posted by an Instagram user today.

The account administrator, Umirah Mohd Taib, told FMT she was with her husband on her way to Kampung Baru when they were shocked at the sight of large, sardine-packed crowds by the side of the road outside the PPV.

The video shows Umirah and her husband attempting to remind people who were lining up to observe physical distancing.

According to Umirah, the situation was chaotic at around 11am and the PPV authorities had failed to manage the crowd.

“We felt very dissatisfied with a few enforcement people there who were not carrying out their responsibilities – not all but there were a few.”

Saying they met some policemen on duty, she added: “When we told them we were recording the video to make a complaint, they accused us of wanting to provoke them. But this was obviously a violation of SOPs, how long are we supposed to hide the matter?” Umirah asked.

“It is so disheartening to see all this. It is as if we do not see a future for Malaysians with such SOP violations and failures,” she added.

FMT has contacted the Dang Wangi district police regarding the incident.
