
The Terengganu menteri besar said such an attitude would hinder PAS’ efforts and greater goal of establishing political cooperation among all Malay-Muslim parties in the nation.
“If there is a ‘big brother’, then it will be tough. PAS adopts an open attitude because our bigger objective is to foster political cooperation among all Malay-Muslim parties,” he said, according to Utusan Malaysia.
Nonetheless, Samsuri said PAS would continue its efforts to bring together both Umno and Bersatu under a form of political cooperation through negotiations.
He said the party would not give up on this endeavour and would continue with its agenda of uniting the ummah.
“I’m optimistic that if we work on it, all parties will hold discussions to achieve some form of cooperation.”
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said recently that being part of MN in its present form was akin to being “shackled”.
“It must be accepted that PN, which has become a bigger political movement, needs to be in power in this plural society,” Hadi told party organ, HarakahDaily.
