
PETALING JAYA: The floods in Selangor during the weekend claimed their first victim after a man was found drowned in Shah Alam.
Shah Alam police chief Baharudin Mat Taib said the victim was a Malaysian in his 30s.
His body was found by the public near the Alam Idaman condominium in Seksyen 22, Shah Alam, after the water level began receding at about 7.50pm yesterday.
“The victim was a resident of an apartment near the area. The case is classified as sudden death.” he said, according to a report by Harian Metro.
As of yesterday, more than 20,000 people had been evacuated from their flooded homes to relief centres.
