PETALING JAYA:
Simpang Renggam MP Maszlee Malik has been called in by the police for questioning tomorrow for attending an event to hand over a memorandum to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Monday.

Maszlee tweeted that he will be at Putrajaya police headquarters at 10am.

“In relation to my presence in witnessing the handing over of a memorandum from PKR Youth to MACC on Monday, I’m being called in by police tomorrow for questioning,” he said.

He then added: “(Have) Azam Baki and his brother been questioned?”

Azam is the MACC chief, who admitted earlier that he had allowed his younger brother to buy shares using his trading account.

It was reported that a group of PKR Youth members had staged a peaceful protest on Jan 11 to urge Azam to step down from his position.

The group had moved in a convoy of 50 vehicles from Dataran Putrajaya to the MACC headquarters.

PKR Youth chief Akmal Nasir later said he, Batu MP P Prabakaran, Youth vice-chief S Thiban and its secretary, Syukri Razab, had been summoned by police for questioning.
