Rodziah Ismail said it’s too early to say anything, but Fadhlina Sidek is expected to make an announcement tomorrow.

PETALING JAYA:
Selangor PKR Wanita chief Rodziah Ismail is set to challenge PKR Wanita’s legal and community development bureau chief Fadhlina Sidek for the Wanita chief’s position in the upcoming party elections.

According to a source, the women are also said to be aligned to the candidates for the key deputy president’s post, namely vice-president Rafizi Ramli and secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

“Rodziah and Fadhlina will contest the PKR Wanita chief’s post under the teams led by Rafizi and Saifuddin, respectively,” the source told FMT.

When contacted by FMT to comment on the matter, Rodziah said: “It is still too early to say, and everything will be announced later.”

Meanwhile, the source said Fadhlina was expected to make an announcement on the matter tomorrow.

Rodziah had contested for the PKR Wanita chief’s post in the 2014 party elections but lost to Zuraida Kamaruddin.

Zuraida retained her post unopposed in the 2018 party polls but was sacked by the party in February 2020 following the Sheraton Move. The post has remained vacant since.

Also in the 2018 party elections, Rodziah contested for the Wanita deputy chief’s post but lost to Daroyah Alwi.

She was, however, appointed the Selangor PKR Wanita chief in June 2020, replacing Daroyah, after the latter quit the party.

The PKR polls for the 2022-2025 term will take place from May 13 to 18.
