The mother of three also lodged a police report against a preacher for slander.
Earlier this week, PAS’ information chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin issued a warning against anyone trying to nullify the conversion of Loh’s children.
Khairil said the children’s conversion to Islam was based on their “understanding, awareness and willingness as free human beings (to be converted) as a result of their Islamic studies and education”.
FMT has asked Khairil for a response.
Loh also claimed that preacher Firdaus Wong, in a series of Facebook postings, had attempted to “embarrass and pressure” her to drop a judicial review over her children’s conversion.
“Wong has also slandered me by saying that I was keeping another man,” she said in the report. She said the postings were a form of criminal intimidation, sedition, and misuse of network facilities.
Kajang district police chief Zaid Hassan confirmed receiving Loh’s report and said it would be investigated.
Wong told FMT that his posts were merely to “educate the public” about what he described as “inaccurate reports” about Loh. “I was merely sharing facts and chronology of events. Perhaps the facts presented had made Loh feel embarrassed. She can sue us if the facts presented in the four videos we put out are not true,” he said.
Loh filed an application in the High Court on March 25 for leave to seek a declaration that her former husband was legally unfit to convert the children to Islam.
She sought a declaration that a provision in the Perlis state enactment that allowed a parent to convert minor children unilaterally was unconstitutional.
Loh also wants a declaration that her children are of the Hindu faith, and an order to quash their conversion to Islam made on July 7, 2020 by the registrar of converts in Perlis.
Loh obtained custody of her children from the Perlis religious authorities in February following a court order.
