Wan Saiful Wan Jan said he had publicly stated that his last day with PTPTN would be June 17.

PETALING JAYA:
Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan has confirmed that he is no longer the chairman of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN).

He said he had publicly stated previously that his last day helming PTPTN would be June 17.

“As to my next step, just wait until that next step comes,” he said in a brief Facebook post.

This morning, an Utusan Malaysia report raised questions as to Wan Saiful’s status as PTPTN chairman, pointing out that its website showed the position had been vacated though no official statement had been made.

It was also reported that Wan Saiful was one of the Bersatu figures being talked about as Zuraida Kamaruddin’s replacement in the Cabinet.

While Wan Saiful dismissed the report, he did not address the rumours that he would replace Zuraida as a minister.

Wan Saiful was appointed the PTPTN chairman under the Pakatan Harapan administration on June 18, 2018.
