Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu, 38, however, claimed trial when the charges were read before magistrate Siti Norhasliza Ali.
On the first charge, Zamri, who is the CEO of One Centre Malaysia Perlis, was accused of voluntarily causing hurt to the 38-year-old woman at a house in Taman Melati Indah on July 14.
If convicted, he could be jailed for a maximum of one year and fined up to RM2,000 or both.
On the second charge, Zamri was accused of threatening to murder the same woman at the same location, also on July 14.
If convicted, Zamri can be imprisoned for up to seven years or fined or both.
