PETALING JAYA:
Police have recorded a statement by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang over controversial remarks he made about non-Muslims.

Bukit Aman said Hadi was present at federal police headquarters today with his lawyer, to assist in the investigation against him.

Yesterday, Bukit Aman said the Marang MP would be summoned after 28 reports were lodged against Hadi over his claim earlier this month.

In a statement on Aug 20, Hadi had accused non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras of being at the root of corruption and forming the “majority of those involved in ruining the country’s politics and economy”.

The police investigation is under a Penal Code provision on statements conducive to public mischief and incitement, and for abuse of network services under the Communications and Multimedia Act.
