KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) defeated Terengganu FC (TFC) 3-1 in the 2022 FA Cup final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil here.
JDT sent the estimated 84,000 crowd roaring when Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi scored in the 34th minute. The score remained 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Bergson da Silva increased JDT’s lead by scoring the second goal in the 63rd minute.
TFC narrowed the deficit in the 75th minute with a goal by Kipre Thetche.
However, da Silva struck again three minutes later to seal the issue for JDT. As soon as the match was over, the Johor government announced a state holiday tomorrow.
