Anwar Ibrahim says Muda’s application to join Pakatan Harapan will be discussed as soon as possible.

PETALING JAYA:
Pakatan Harapan (PH) will decide soon on whether to accept or reject Muda’s proposal to join the coalition, says its chairman Anwar Ibrahim.

He said, so far, the coalition has yet to hold any discussion regarding the matter with all component parties through a presidential council meeting. PH comprises PKR, DAP, Amanah and Upko (from Sabah).

“There has been no discussion in PH about Muda’s participation so far. It will be discussed as soon as possible,” he said after attending a talk organised by Muda in Taman Medan, here last night.

On Sept 6, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman revealed that his party was interested in joining PH ahead of the next general election (GE15).

He had also said that Muda was open to holding official discussions with the PH presidential council regarding the matter and was targeting no more than 15 seats.

Following that, Selangor PKR information chief Halimey Abu Bakar warned Muda not to expect PH to make way for it when it comes to seat allocation in states under the coalition, namely Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan.

“Focus on working in rural areas and states like Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak instead,” he had said in a statement.

Meanwhile, PKR deputy information chief Razeef Rakimin called for Muda to sever any ties it had with Warisan if it was sincere about joining PH.
