PETALING JAYA:
The stage is set for a four-cornered fight in Tambun, with Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibahim challenging Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu for his parliamentary seat.

Faizal, a former Perak menteri besar, will also be taking on Barisan Nasional’s Aminuddin Hanafiah and Gerakan Tanah Air’s Abdul Rahim Tahir.

Faizal had won the Tambun seat on a PH ticket in 2018 with a majority of over 5,000 votes.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) confirmed that there will be a five-way contest for the Gombak seat, which former PKR deputy president Azmin Ali is hoping to retain for a fourth term.

He will be going up against PKR vice-president Amirudin Shari, Barisan Nasional’s Megat Zulkarnain Omardin and Gerakan Tanah Air’s Aziz Jamaludin Mohd Tahir.

Azmin’s younger brother, Azwan, pulled out from the race earlier today and stated his support for Amirudin.
