He said PH “had it in writing” but would not say which parties the other MPs were from.
Anwar disputed a claim by Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin that his coalition could form the government.
“It cannot be, it is impossible for him to claim so when we have it in writing,” Anwar said. “We have a majority, which means more than 111 seats” stressing that PH had it in writing as proof.
The Dewan Rakyat has 222 seats.
Anwar said PH would now follow procedures and submit the necessary documents to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who is empowered by the constitution to decide on who forms the new government
“We will submit the documents to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as soon as possible,” he said.
Any subsequent issues with other parties during further negotiations could only be resolved after an audience with the king.
