Pahang PH chief Amirudin Shari has held talks with BN Pahang chief Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

PETALING JAYA:
Discussions between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) for the formation of the Pahang state government have been going “in a positive direction”, says Pahang PH secretary Rizal Jamin.

In a statement, Rizal said Pahang PH chief Amirudin Shari held talks with BN Pahang chief Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail yesterday.

“Any further development (on the discussions) will be updated from time to time,” he said.

According to a Bernama report, eight elected representatives from PH who won the contest for state seats in the 15th general election (GE15) had signed statutory declarations (SD) supporting Wan Rosdy.

They were Sim Chon Siang, who won the Teruntum state seat, Chan Chun Kuang (Semambu), Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji (Tras), Woo Chee Wan (Mentakab), Thomas Su Keong Siong (Ketari), Ho Chi Yang (Tanah Rata), Leong Yu Man (Triang) and Lee Chin Chen (Bilut).

Earlier, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the party had been in talks with Wan Rosdy on the formation of the state government.

He said discussions had been going well and the two coalitions had reached a decision.

Yesterday, FMT reported that Pahang DAP had decided to back Wan Rosdy to continue serving as menteri besar while expressing willingness to work with BN to form the state government.

However, it acknowledged that the Pahang palace would have the final say on who would become the menteri besar.

No party has formed the Pahang government yet, after Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 17 seats in the state assembly, followed by BN with 16 and PH with eight.

The election for the Tioman seat would be held on Dec 7 following the death of PN’s candidate Yunus Ramli.
