The unit trust management company, wholly owned by Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), also announced an additional bonus of 0.5 sen per unit for the first 30,000 units.
Last year, ASB’s income distribution was 4.25 sen per unit. It also gave a bonus of 0.75 sen per unit.
PNB chairman Arifin Zakaria said despite the challenging market conditions, ASNB still managed to provide a competitive income distribution and bonus to unit holders.
“A total distribution of RM8.9 billion will benefit 10.6 million unit holders, who hold 186.4 billion units in ASB,” he said in a statement.
He said the additional bonus was provided to help unit holders deal with the rising cost of living.
