KOTA KINABALU:
Pakatan Harapan chairman and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at a hotel here for talks with leaders of Barisan Nasional and Warisan following last week’s failed attempt to unseat chief minister Hajiji Noor.

Anwar arrived at 10.10pm shortly after landing at Kota Kinabalu airport from Jakarta, after a two-day official visit as prime minister to Indonesia.

Hajiji was among those who greeted Anwar upon arrival but he was not seen with Anwar on Anwar’s arrival at the hotel but was headed for a meeting with Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who had arrived from Kuala Lumpur earlier tonight.

The meetings of top political leaders come days after state assemblymen of Umno-led Sabah Barisan Nasional retracted support for Hajiji amid rumours that Sabah Umno and Warisan were seeking to form a new state government.

Zahid had met Sabah BN-Umno leaders here earlier this evening, after which he said he was sure Anwar and him would reach a “win-win” solution during negotiations with Hajiji.
