The state government has issued a public notice naming 29 individuals using fake honorifics purportedly given by the Pahang palace.

PETALING JAYA:
The Pahang government has listed in a public notice the names of 29 individuals using fake honorifics such as “Datuk” and “Datuk Seri” titles.

This is after a list of recipients of the Darjah Kebesaran Negeri Pahang Darul Makmur by the Pahang sultan was falsified.

The Darjah Kebesaran Negeri Pahang Darul Makmur grants the recipients a “Datuk” or “Datuk Seri” title.

According to Berita Harian, Pahang state secretary Sallehuddin Ishak said so far, his office had only released the names of the 29 individuals and had not taken any further action.

This incident saw two individuals charged in court on Dec 28 for an unauthorised change to the content of the website which manages the award of medals and honorifics two years ago.

Both accused, aged 30 and 36, were charged with using their identification numbers to input names of individuals who were never shortlisted for the awards into the website.

Both were allowed bail of RM5,000 each. The court set mention for Feb 13.
