PETALING JAYA:
The views of component party leaders will be taken into account before Pakatan Harapan (PH) decides to accept any sacked Umno leaders, PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim said.

Anwar, who is also the prime minister, said this was important to preserve cooperation in the unity government.

“This is necessary to maintain the principles, peace and unity within the government. So, we will have to give it a lot more consideration,” Bernama quoted him as saying at a function in Ipoh today.

Former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin and former Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar were sacked from Umno on Friday for breaching party discipline during the recent general election.

Sembrong MP Hishammuddin Hussein and Tebrau division chief Maulizan Bujang were suspended for six years.

Also suspended for the same period were former Jempol MP Salim Sharif and former Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan.

Anwar said none of the sacked Umno leaders had expressed their intention to join PH.
