PETALING JAYA:
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he went for a check-up at the National Heart Institute (IJN) this morning, with doctors later giving him a clean bill of health.

Following that, he went to his office to attend to some matters, according to a brief post on Facebook.

He also attached a picture of himself with his senior adviser on economics and finance, Nurul Izzah, and his senior political secretary, Shamsul Iskandar Akin, at his office.

Earlier, human resources minister V Sivakumar said Anwar had to give the Thaipusam celebrations at Batu Caves a miss as he was unwell.

However, the minister did not elaborate on the nature of Anwar’s health issue.

He said the prime minister still wanted to meet temple committee representatives involved in Thaipusam celebrations nationwide.

“This meeting will be held within the next week or two,” he said.
