6 die after chartered van crashes in Genting Highlands

PETALING JAYA:
Six people have died while eight others sustained injuries after a chartered van crashed into a concrete divider when driving down Genting Highlands.

According to China Press, the accident occurred at about 1.20pm around KM4.8 of Jalan Genting Highlands.

The van, which was ferrying 13 passengers, had lost control while going downhill before crashing into the divider, severely damaging the front of the vehicle.

Fire and rescue department personnel rushed to the scene to help the victims.

The bodies of the six deceased have been sent for a post-mortem while the injured victims are being treated at Bentong Hospital and Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
