PETALING JAYA:
An explosive is believed to be the cause of a hole blown on the roof of a parked Perodua Myvi in Shah Alam last week, police said.

Shah Alam police chief Iqbal Ibrahim said the car owner, a food delivery rider aged 35, was informed by his wife that she had seen some sparks on top of the car at around 3.50am.

“He went out of the house to check and discovered there was smoke everywhere. He then contacted the police.” Iqbal said a neighbour had heard a loud explosion.

An external examination of the car found the metal edges of the hole were found to be bent inwards, he added.

A Bukit Aman bomb disposal unit found that the explosive was made by a person with some knowledge of bombs.

Iqbal said police found a fuse used to start the explosion and are calling on witnesses to help in the investigation.
