“Nonetheless, we will be mobilised as one machinery among parties in the unity government,” he told reporters after attending an event organised by the rural and regional development ministry at Masjid Al-Ansar at the Sri Pantai Camp in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.
On seat allocations, Zahid, who is BN chairman, said no formal discussions had taken place between Umno and the other parties in the unity government.
Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu will hold their polls this year.
Separately, the deputy prime minister said Terengganu Umno chairman Ahmad Said had been reappointed as Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketengah) chairman.
Zahid hoped Ahmad’s reappointment would drive development in three districts under Ketengah, namely Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman.
