While all the 10 exco members had been sworn in yesterday, Amirudin said their specific portfolios will be announced on Wednesday after he chairs their first meeting.
Today, the menteri besar said he will meet Anwar to finalise the exco members’ portfolios before announcing them tomorrow.
He said several portfolios will be renamed to smoothen administrative matters between the federal and state governments, particularly when it comes to dealing with cost of living and climate change.
“We have to readjust (the portfolios) with the federal level because, at the end of the day, we have to manage the (state’s) administration with the federal government,” he said at a press conference.
DAP has four representatives in the exco lineup, with PKR having three, Amanah two and Umno one.
Amirudin also said the next state assembly speaker will be appointed when the assembly convenes next month after Malaysia Day on Sept 16.
The previous speaker was Sekinchan assemblyman Ng Suee Lim of DAP, who was appointed an exco member yesterday.
The DAP leadership previously agreed to allow Umno to contest for the Dusun Tua seat in the Aug 12 state election on condition that former Banting assemblyman Lau Weng San would be made speaker for the new term.
